Responsibilities
- Receive and disburse orders by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, and unpacking containers.
- Prepare paperwork to document receipt of incoming materials with high accuracy.
- Check materials for damage and perform inventory move transactions in ERP.
- Compare identifying information and quantities on packing slips against purchase orders, count items for verification, and indicate discrepancies.
- Maintain computerized inventory data records and paper files.
- Notify proper personnel of incoming materials on a priority basis.
- Deliver and store materials to appropriate personnel/area.
- Support company continual improvement initiatives.
Shipping Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Pack and ship orders by verifying identifying information and documenting shipment items in the recording system.
- Assemble and consolidate orders accurately and efficiently using fork truck and shipping carts.
- Prepare, pick, and pack orders according to shipping instructions, including manual processing and operating UPS, FedEx, and bar-coding systems for air, ocean, and motor freight shipments.
- Accurately document all shipping paperwork and process shipping labels.
- Maintain an accurate finished goods inventory via Kan Ban system and an inventory of shipping and packing supplies.
- Build packing crates within the crating cell for order shipment and fold and tape standard and non-standard boxes for packing process.
- Mount, block, and secure large shipments on skids, crates, or boxes as needed.
- Perform general housekeeping in the area.
- Support company continual improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience within a warehouse and shipping setting.
- Shipping and handling of hazardous material desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Very organized and detail-oriented, able to manage tasks independently.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to deliver work accurately.
- Ability to deliver work on time and prioritize based on business needs.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite – inclusive but not exhaustive of Word and Excel, along with generally strong computer proficiency.
- Experience with CRM and ERP systems highly beneficial.
- Forklift license.
- Basic knowledge of wood working tools (tape measure, saws, drills, air stapler).
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable attendance and works well with others.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs.
- Other duties as assigned.
