Shipper/Receiver- 1st Shift

Location: Wallingford, CT • Full-time, hourly position on 1st shift.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and sign for incoming raw, semi-finished, and finished materials, parts, and supplies; verify count, weight, type, and condition against packing/shipping lists and purchase orders.
• Locate and accumulate wire, cable, and other materials to fill customer orders or internal requisitions based on written or verbal instructions.
• Rewind finished cables and wires to specified lengths, including splitting single reels onto multiple reels as directed.
• Wrap, pack, palletize, strap, and label reels and materials for shipment following established procedures or customer/company-specific instructions.
• Apply stencils, markings, tags, and labels to reels, packaging, or designated areas to ensure proper identification and protection during transit.
• Pre-pack standard wires and cables according to established practices.
• Store materials in designated locations and maintain organized inventory.
• Operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment to move, transport, and stack materials; load and unload carriers.
• Issue materials and supplies from storage areas to using departments based on approved requisitions or authorizations.
• Detect, document, and report damaged materials, faulty equipment, or unusual conditions to supervision.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
• Prepare and process paperwork for the return of returnable wire reels, rejected raw materials, and other items to vendors; coordinate carrier pickups.
• Maintain routine records and reports related to material handling and inventory.
• Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.

Pay

$24.30 per hour.
