About the role

Gold Medal Bakery is a fourth-generation family-owned industrial bakery that operates around the clock to provide fresh-baked goods to area food stores, restaurants, and institutions in New England and beyond. Gold Medal prides itself as a team of quality people who share their reputation and tradition through bread. We are looking for a Part-Time Shipper to help ensure our bakery products are accurately selected, checked, and loaded for delivery. This role is essential to getting the right products to our customers safely and on time. No previous experience is required — we’ll provide the training you need to succeed!

Responsibilities

• Select, count, and load bakery products into trailers according to shipping orders.
• Use a handheld computerized system to verify product quantities and order accuracy.
• Inspect products for quality, correct labeling, coding, packaging, and any visible damage.
• Report discrepancies, damaged products, and equipment issues to supervision.
• Complete required shipping documents and verify product counts.
• Secure trailer loads according to company safety procedures.
• Unload and store purchased products in designated areas.
• Keep the work area and equipment clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist team members and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to learn and use computerized systems and handheld devices.
• Strong attention to detail when checking products, labels, and quantities.
• Commitment to following instructions, safety procedures, and food safety standards.
• Dependability and a willingness to work as part of a team.
• Physical requirements: standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and handling bakery trays and dollies throughout the shift; able to lift or exert up to 50 pounds occasionally; work around moving equipment; navigate stairs; reach up to seven feet to handle racks and trays.
