Pay

$38 per hour plus $130 per diem for non-local candidates.

Summary

The Shipfitter will perform layout, fit, align, and assemble prefabricated cast and forged components prior to welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform layout, fit, align, and assemble prefabricated cast and forged components prior to welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding operations.
• Perform fitting and machining operations such as straighten, grind, burr, drill, ream, and countersink materials to close tolerances.
• Refer to general instructions to select equipment, set up, and lay out materials to be welded.
• Repair and rework parts to restore required tolerances that have become distorted.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process and other control procedures.

Requirements

• Must have 3–5 years of prior shipyard experience as a Shipfitter.
