Shipfitter III/Specialist

About the role

Oceaneering Marine Services Division (MSD) seeks a highly skilled Shipfitter who can perform high-consequence maintenance on assets operating in demanding environments. The ideal candidate must excel in all tasks required as a Shipfitter, possess expert knowledge in shipboard plate systems, and be able to mentor junior craftsmen.

Responsibilities

• Requires no supervision and excels in all qualifications.
• Understands and performs the setup, alignment, and operation of all portable tools and hand tools used in the trade, including plasma cutting machines and oxy/fuel torches.
• Expert in shipboard plate systems (repair/installation practices, procedures, alignments).

Qualifications

• High School/GED with Apprenticeship Diploma and additional vocational courses or technical school graduate; and/or military and/or civilian experience with Shipfitting practices in a repair department or shipyard.
• Able to obtain government base access.
• Knowledge and practical skills tests required.
• Deep Submergence Systems (SOC MCD A, B, and C), SUBSAFE Qualification.
• Welding qualifications (GTAW/SMAW).
• Able to obtain a security clearance.
