About the role
CACI is seeking a mission-minded individual with expertise in designing and installing shipboard network-based CCTV systems. The selected candidate will work in a shipboard environment, collaborating with OEMs, marine engineers, and industrial assistance.
Responsibilities
- Support CCTV system design, development, and Proof of Concepts initially in the Washington DC region.
- Up to 25% travel required both CONUS/OCONUS for this position.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of network-based CCTV security systems.
- Provide measurable input into design elements of future systems.
- Evaluate shipboard environments for the installation of equipment.
- Install and/or oversee installation of applicable equipment (with racks if needed).
- Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers.
- Install and/or oversee installation of applicable cables.
- Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues at commissioning.
- Cybersecurity experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- 5 years’ experience as a field engineer supporting technical programs, with expertise, training, and actual work experience with specific systems and/or technology being significantly more important than the number of years of experience in general IT.
- Experience in installing, modifying, or maintaining shipboard CCTV systems and/or networks, including compliance with ABS and USCG requirements for electrical installations.
- Experience in IP-related services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP.
- Familiarity with CAT5-5E, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cable, connectors, and the capability to fabricate required equipment.
- Working knowledge of Windows and/or Unix-type operating systems.
- Experience using VISIO and MS Office.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
- Desired: Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, and/or Networking.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)/Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
- Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, to include installation/connection.
