About the role
The Retail Center Shift Supervisor will lead and manage associates and teams across the entire retail center. Key responsibilities include monitoring safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics, managing breaks, redirecting staff, coaching employees, facilitating employee purchases, assisting with opening and closing procedures, verifying daily sales reports, counting drawers, making change, and cross-training.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships and meet organizational and operational objectives.
- First escalation point for customer complaints.
- Point of contact for turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers (ADC).
- Facilitate employee purchases.
- Aid in opening and closing procedures.
- Verify daily sales report paperwork.
- Count drawers and make change between drawers and the safe.
- Assist with inventory process by counting, entering, and verifying.
- Plan, coordinate, and control the activities of the customer service team.
- Perform cross-training to ensure proficiency in all store procedures.
- Ensure E-Commerce product is processed accurately and moved efficiently.
- Operate and maintain certifications on various equipment such as pallet jacks, walkie stackers, forklifts, hand dollies, or other tools.
- Quickly problem-solve and make decisions.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
- Utilize office equipment, software, and web-based applications to meet the needs of employees and the organization.
- Manage corporate email and calendar.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Two (2) years’ retail experience desired.
- Familiarity with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and electronically.
- Ability to obtain certifications in all employee positions through OJT documentation.
- Ability to obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification.
- Ability to manage a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Confidentiality and adherence to Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
- Physical abilities to lift heavy items, bend, stand, walk, sit, and squat.
