Shift Supervisor - Inwood Shelter

About the role

Join BRC in a leadership role that ensures safety, stability, and support for individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Shift Supervisor, you'll oversee frontline staff, manage shelter operations, and enforce policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Community Technicians and operations support staff
• Oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring safety, security, and fire safety compliance
• Ensure staff follow all agency policies, procedures, and documentation standards
• Review and maintain accurate records, reports, and clinical notes
• Respond to incidents and provide guidance to staff as needed
• Participate in weekly program and leadership meetings
• Provide emergency First Aid/CPR assistance when required
• Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Schedule Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• Programs operate 24/7; various morning, evening, and overnight schedules available

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience working in homeless shelters or similar settings preferred
• At least one year of supervisory or lead experience preferred
• Knowledge of addiction and recovery processes
• Strong computer literacy and documentation skills
• First Aid and Fire Safety certifications required (or willingness to obtain)
• CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain)
