About the role
The Retail Center Shift Supervisor will lead the day-to-day operations of the retail center, ensuring safety, customer focus, and efficient product flow.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships.
- Monitor the retail center and address immediate issues.
- Manage breaks and redirect staff/work teams to address call-offs.
- Coach employees verbally and provide initial write-ups.
- Facilitate employee purchases and cross-train for emergency situations.
- Aid in opening and closing procedures.
- Verify daily sales report paperwork and count drawers.
- Make change between drawers and the safe.
- Assist with inventory process by counting, entering, and verifying.
- Plan, coordinate, and control customer service team activities.
- Handle first escalation points for customer complaints.
- Be the point of contact for turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers (ADC).
- Ensure E-Commerce product is processed accurately and moved efficiently.
- Maintain knowledge of store procedures to fill in for emergencies.
- Manage corporate email and calendar using Outlook.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, production, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Two (2) years’ retail experience.
- Familiarity with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically.
- Ability to obtain certification in all employee positions through OJT documentation.
- Ability to obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification.
- Quick problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Confidentiality and adherence to Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in utilizing office equipment, software, and web-based applications.
- Physical abilities to lift up to 8 hours per day, stand, bend, and occasionally squat, kneel, crawl, twist, push/pull, and reach above shoulder.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in supervisory roles in retail, restaurant, hospitality, production, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Two (2) years’ retail experience.
- Familiarity with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and electronically.
- Ability to obtain certifications for various equipment usage.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Confidentiality and adherence to Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in using office equipment, software, and web-based applications.
- Physical capabilities to lift up to 8 hours per day, stand, bend, and occasionally squat, kneel, crawl, twist, push/pull, and reach above shoulder.
