About the role
The Retail Center Shift Supervisor will lead day-to-day operations, monitor safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics. They will manage breaks, redirect teams, coach employees, facilitate purchases, assist with opening/closing, verify sales reports, count drawers, make change, assist with inventory, cross-train, and manage E-Commerce processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships.
- First escalation point for customer complaints.
- Point of contact for turning down donations at ADCs.
- Facilitate employee purchases.
- Aid in opening and closing procedures.
- Verify daily sales report paperwork.
- Count drawers and make change between drawers and the safe.
- Assist with inventory process by counting, entering, and verifying.
- Manage customer service team activities.
- Perform cross-training to ensure proficiency in multiple roles.
- Ensure E-Commerce product processing accuracy and efficiency.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as pallet jacks, walkie stackers, forklifts, hand dollies, etc.
- Support operations in emergencies when no Assistant Manager or Manager is available.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, production, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Two (2) years’ retail experience preferred.
- Familiarity with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and electronic.
- Ability to obtain certifications in relevant positions.
- Proficiency in office equipment, software, and web-based applications.
- Confidentiality and adherence to Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
- Ability to manage corporate email and calendar.
- Physical stamina for prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
- Flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
- Continuous lifting up to 45 lbs occasionally, moderate up to 44 lbs frequently, light up to 14 lbs frequently.
- Reaching above shoulder, at shoulder, and below shoulder frequently, twisting occasionally, bending occasionally, kneeling/crawling occasionally, squatting occasionally.
- Climbing stairs occasionally.
- Continuous visual, close, and distant vision, fine manipulation, repetitive movements, walking, standing, sitting, speaking, hearing.
- Ability to manage corporate email and calendar (Outlook).
