About the role
Better Buzz Coffee is opening a second location in the Gilbert area and is seeking Shift Supervisors to join our brand new location, expected to open in October 2026. Training will be provided at a nearby existing location (3944 S Val Vista Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85297).

Responsibilities
- Deliver the Better Buzz experience through fast, friendly, and genuine service.
- Be knowledgeable about our coffee, tea, food, and specialty drinks.
- Prepare and serve beverages and food consistently following recipe standards.
- Work all café positions — our baristas are cross-trained and adaptable, including working in our kitchens to make food to order.
- Help run and administer a smooth schedule for breaks, meal periods, and shifts.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, stock work, and special tasks.
- Lead all shift duties as directed by the manager on duty.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety — always ready for guests and teammates.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team.
- Balance and manage deposits.
- Actively participate in inventory and waste management.
- Adhere to opening and closing duties checklist and procedures.
- Perform all other duties at the discretion of the store manager or leadership.
Our shift supervisors have the opportunity to learn the entirety of our business, including:
- Cashier - Point of Sale
- Expo - Inside & Outside Order Taking
- Working the Drive-Thru (if applicable)
- Supporting Third-Party Delivery & Online Orders
- Back of House - Cooking & Prepping
Requirements
- 1+ year experience in coffee, food service, or hospitality preferred.
- Previous fast-paced coffee experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Drive-Thru experience is a plus.
- Guest service focused and solution-oriented.
- Passion for great coffee and exceptional guest service.
- Strong communicator with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and available for nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be available to work 28 hours/week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work a mixture of open, close, and mid-shifts as dictated by business needs.

Pay
Base pay is $17 per hour. In addition to base pay, team members receive tips averaging approximately $4 per hour. Tips can vary and are not guaranteed but reflect generous gratuities from customers. Average tips are based on 2025 reporting.
