About the role
The Retail Center Shift Supervisor will lead the day-to-day operations of the retail center, ensuring safety, customer focus, and efficient product flow.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships
- Monitor and address immediate issues of safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics
- Manage breaks and redirect staff/work teams to address call-offs
- Coach employees verbally and with initial write-ups
- Facilitate employee purchases
- Aid in opening and closing procedures
- Verify daily sales report paperwork
- Count drawers and make change between drawers and the safe
- Assist with inventory process
- Plan, coordinate, and control customer service team activities
- Handle first escalation for customer complaints
- Act as point of contact for turning down donations at ADCs
- Cross-train to ensure proficiency in multiple roles
- Ensure accurate processing of E-Commerce product
- Operate and maintain equipment such as pallet jacks, walkie stackers, forklifts, hand dollies, etc.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, production, manufacturing, or similar industries
- Two (2) years’ retail experience desired
- Familiarity with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and electronically
- Ability to obtain certifications in relevant equipment operation
- Quick problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Confidentiality and adherence to Goodwill’s policies and procedures
- Proficiency in using office equipment, software, and web-based applications
- Ability to manage corporate email and calendar
- Physical stamina for prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day
- Flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime
