Shift Supervisor
Position Overview
The minimum and maximum salary for this position is $23.00 per hour. Services for the UnderServed (S:US) is hiring Shift Supervisors to support people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in living their best life in a safe environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures a person-centered focus is used to provide care and support by all staff who work within the program.
- Promotes the independence and self-determination of individuals, utilizing person-centered practices that focus on the individuals’ strengths and preferences while simultaneously addressing their needs.
- Promotes participation in activities of meaningful daily living, such as vocation, recreation, volunteerism, engagement.
- Ensures a positive climate that promotes respect and dignity for people supported.
- Provides opportunities for people supported to personalize their environment, schedule and experiences in program.
- Supports the person’s independence, choice and outcomes.
- Provides prompt, efficient, and personalized support to meet requirements, requests, and concerns.
- Regulatory
- Provides habilitation services to each client as prescribed in their service plans (CFA, Individual Service plan, Habilitation plan).
- Responsible for overall functioning of the facility during the absence of the Program Director.
- In the absence of the Program Director, supervises and instructs all Direct Support Professionals on shift.
- Responsible for people supported and agency funds and expenditures during shift (petty cash, recreation etc.).
- Ensures coverage of a shift when a Direct Support Professional is absent.
- Acts as a functioning member of the staff, meeting the needs of the people supported.
- Serves as a role model to staff and people supported and helps to develop best practices to support both the person supported and Direct Support Professional.
- Quality Improvement
- Carrries out policies and procedures of SUS, in accordance with OPWDD and other funding sources.
- Reports all incidents, ensuring consistent adherence to OPWDD and agency policies.
- Assesses and monitors staff productivity on an ongoing basis.
- Responds appropriately to community, family and agency contacts.
- Maintains, develops and supports the person support to staff assignment.
- Mets with Program Director on a regular basis to discuss pertinent shift and Direct Support Professional’s issues and successes.
- Makes sure Direct Support Professional’s time sheets are reviewed on an as-needed basis.
- Ensures fire drill completion on shift.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or approved equivalent.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Intellectual Disabilities/IDD or related field.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- SCIP-R;
- CPR & First Aid is required.
- AMAP certification is required.
