Shift Supervisor
Location: 599 Ralph Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11233
Pay: USD $48,000.00 per year
About the role
The Shift Supervisor provides supervision and training to residential aides and community coordinators. Responsibilities include conducting ongoing individual supervisory meetings, building inspections, providing feedback on job performance, coordinating work schedules, timesheets, and requests for time off, as well as work assignments. The role also involves evaluating paperwork and documentation such as the Security Log and Maintenance Work Order Log books, and coordinating security and maintenance staff training, development, and evaluation. The Shift Supervisor may also be required to fulfill duties of residential aides and/or custodial personnel in their absence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train residential aides and community coordinators
- Conduct ongoing individual supervisory meetings
- Perform building inspections
- Provide ongoing feedback regarding job performance
- Coordinate work schedules, timesheets, and requests for time off
- Assign work tasks and evaluate staff performance
- Review and evaluate paperwork and documentation, including Security Log and Maintenance Work Order Log books
- Coordinate security and maintenance staff training, development, and evaluation
- Perform duties of residential aides and/or custodial personnel as needed in their absence
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of experience in Security or Building Maintenance
- Experience in office management and/or staff supervision
- Experience working in a large residential/institutional setting with a special needs population
- Strong writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to provide crisis intervention using good interpersonal skills with a high level of maturity and responsibility
- F-80 (Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems) required within 6 months of employment
