About the role

The Shift Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility during an assigned shift. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Ensuring all personnel follow policies and procedures and work safely.
  • Maintaining the plant within environmental limits and permits.
  • Emergency response to injuries or accidents.
  • Directing or performing required operations during emergencies.
  • Coordinating activities of all personnel involved in emergencies.
  • Completing shift, daily, weekly, and monthly checks.
  • Approving requests for removing equipment from service for maintenance and other purposes.
  • Issuing safety permits and ensuring proper clearance and tagging of equipment.
  • Troubleshooting plant operational issues and coordinating maintenance activities.
  • Training and managing a workforce to ensure an effective and motivated team.

  • Responding to emergencies and directing operations.
  • Completing shift, daily, weekly, and monthly checks.
  • Approving equipment removal for maintenance.
  • Issuing safety permits and ensuring proper clearance.
  • Troubleshooting plant issues and coordinating maintenance.
  • Training and managing a skilled workforce.

Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in power or resource recovery plant operations.
  • ASME QRO Provisional & Site-Specific Operators license.
  • Detailed knowledge of steam generating power stations and instrument and control systems.
  • Formal technical training.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems, train personnel, and interpret logic diagrams.
  • Good communication and leadership skills, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Physical Demands

Physical demands include:

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
  • Qualification to wear a full-face respirator.

Schedule

Shift Supervisors work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that alternates between days and nights, including weekends, holidays, outage support, and vacation coverage.

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably and provides competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements, and union contracts (if applicable).

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $99,000.00 - $141,500.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
