Shift Supervisor
Job Summary
Responsible for all aspects of Management for Residential Aide staff within the Program. Ensures quality services are provided effectively and in accordance with guidelines established by CHI, OTDA, and other funding sources as appropriate.
Pay
$24.04 an hour- approx. $50,040 annually. FLSA: Non-exempt. Eligible for overtime.
Schedule
8am- 4pm Sunday, Thursday and Saturday
12pm-8pm Monday and Friday (Tuesday& Wednesday off)
12am-8am Sunday - Thursday (Friday and Saturday off)
About the Role
Responsible for the supervision and support for all Residential Aide staff. Oversees Residential Aide staffing for weekends, overnights and as needed. Conducts Fire Drills as scheduled and ensures compliance with fire safety procedures. Supervises and assists with client meals. Provides limited crisis intervention and de-escalation. Maintains logs, office, and site in an orderly fashion. Assists the management team in communication and acts as an on-call supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the overall running of the site as directed by the Program Director
- Supervise and support all Residential Aide staff
- Oversight of Residential Aide staffing for weekends, overnights, and as needed
- Conduct Fire Drills as scheduled and ensure compliance with fire safety procedures
- Supervise and assist with client meals
- Provide limited crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Prevent loss of income due to vacancy loss, shelter payments, property, etc.
- Maintain quality services and compliance with program requirements
- Enforce clients' adherence to CHI, site, and DSS policies, regulations, and rules
- Monitor video cameras and area consistently
- Adhere to proper use of company resources
- Maintain appropriateness and act as a model for other employees
- Provide on-site training and feedback on a regular basis
- Inform Building Superintendent of work site's physical condition
- Submit all internal and external reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Act as a liaison with agencies responsible for referring eligible clients
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s from an accredited university or related field of study, preferred
- 3+ years of verified experience working in homeless services can override the education requirement
- All applicants must have 2+ years’ experience providing management services in social services or in other related fields
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English required. Multi-lingual and Spanish proficiency preferred
- First Aid/CPR Certification and Food Handler’s Certificate (have upon hire or within 60 days of hire)
- F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification, required (or ability to obtain F80 certification within 30 days of hire)
- Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and on the Internet
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs (up to 3-4 flights)
- Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls
- Even-tempered, good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines
- Effective time management skills
