Why We Need You
This Position Operates On a Rotating Shift Schedule In a 24/7 Manufacturing Environment. Team Members Rotate Between Day, Night, And Afternoon Shifts, With Scheduled Days Off Between Rotations. Shift Hours Include Day Shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PMAfternoon Shift: 3:30 PM – 11:30 PMNight Shift: 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM The schedule follows a rotating pattern of consecutive workdays and scheduled time off to support continuous operations.
Responsibilities
- Supports the management team and reports to the Production Manager.
- Leads and drives the manufacturing initiatives of operators, leads, and shift supervisors to support the manufacturing improvement process and production control systems.
- Activities include, but are not limited to, safety performance, quality, training, and productivity.
- Mentors, coaches, supports, and guides leads and supervisors.
- Directs and indirectly leads in the execution of 5S, production reporting, scrap reporting, and schedule attainment.
- Resolves and escalates conflicts, risks, issues, and action items as brought forth by shifts.
- Responds to issues or problems that arise in day-to-day operations.
- Makes meetings with appropriate staff to define, investigate problems or issues, and propose solutions to improve productivity.
- Improves and develops training documentation, certifications, including the development of a training program, and prioritizes plant needs.
- Proactively challenges the performance of current systems and processes; identifies risks and develops solutions and/or processes, and ensures the necessary steps for risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in any field of manufacturing or engineering.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior experience supervising employees in a unionized work environment, continuous process manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills, and team building skills, along with the ability to facilitate action plans.
- Strong troubleshooting skills help fix problems quickly to keep production running.
- Proven managerial and leadership skills that will motivate and direct a large group of employees, and the skills to effectively support a diverse group of people.
- Current computer skills, both in PC and control systems, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, are required.
