About the role

The Shift Supervisor ensures the completion of maintenance assignments, directs and instructs shift personnel, oversees maintenance logs and forms, and controls tools and equipment. This role functions as an integral member of the management team by troubleshooting problems and communicating regularly with managers. The shift is 8am-4pm, though additional or different duties may be required to address business needs.

Responsibilities

• Direct and instruct shift personnel.
• Oversee completion of maintenance logs and forms.
• Control and issue tools and equipment.
• Troubleshoot problems and communicate with management.
• Perform maintenance and repair of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC control systems.
• Work with CMMS systems, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
• Operate in confined spaces and at heights over six feet using ladders or lift equipment.
• Use a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Familiarity with plumbing, electric, and fire protection systems.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems.
• Current City of Philadelphia First Grade Stationary Engineer License.
• EPA and USEPA approved universal refrigeration certification.
• Conform to all city, state, and federal licensing and certification requirements.
• Knowledge of CMMS systems.
• Ability to read and work with blueprints and schematic diagrams.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights over six feet.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
