Shift Manager - Timberlake

In 1975 Wendy's of Western VA, Inc. opened its first restaurant on Electric Road across from Tanglewood Mall. We have steadily grown throughout the western portion of Virginia, and today we operate 14 restaurants focused on delivering the highest standards in quality, service, and cleanliness. Our plans include continued steady growth, and we believe our crew and management are our most important asset—the key to that growth.

About the role

As a Shift Manager at your local Wendy’s, you will assist your team by managing both staff and operations at one of our Roanoke or Lynchburg locations. We offer extensive skills training, multiple bonus programs, and clear opportunities for promotion—most of our General Managers started as Shift Managers. Highly motivated and dedicated managers can quickly advance to various leadership positions, including Store General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Work with your team to create a restaurant of choice by providing the best food in a friendly and fast-paced environment.
• Properly manage your shift using Wendy’s Systems.
• Manage, empower, and assist your team in achieving organizational goals that support “Service Excellence for every customer.”
• Perform HR duties to maximize employee engagement and retention.
• Interview and recommend candidates to maintain proper staffing levels.
• Provide A+ training for every employee through our established systems.
• Assist the General Manager with administrative tasks.
• Ensure all food safety procedures are executed at a high level, in accordance with Company and Health Department standards.

Requirements

• Restaurant or retail experience, including customer service.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including late nights and breakfast shifts (most drive-thrus open until midnight).
• Strong customer service, communication, and leadership/organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods without a break and travel to the bank, other restaurants, or the Area Office as needed.
• Reliability is a must.
