Shift Manager in Training

About the role

Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. A Shift Manager provides leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to ensure great Quality, Service and Cleanliness to customers. This role is vital to the operations within the restaurant because you'll lead the experience, inspire and empower your team, understand that teamwork is key, take action first, and never stop learning.

Responsibilities

• Planning for each shift
• Monitoring performance during the shift
• Taking action to ensure the team meets McDonald's standards
• Monitoring safety, security, and profitability
• Communicating with other Shift Managers and crew
• Motivating, delegating, and coaching the team
• Completing assigned cleanliness tasks
• Completing assigned planned maintenance tasks
• Overseeing and leading crew and other managers on your shift
• Providing encouraging leadership for crew and managers to provide an outstanding guest experience
• Supervising and leading food safety and cleanliness measures to meet McDonald's standards
• Taking measures around safety, security, inventory, and profitability
• Cultivating and encouraging training, education, and continued learning within the restaurant
• Driving and expecting a high level of performance from the team

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience is required, ideally within a restaurant, retail or hospitality environment
• Must be 18 years or older
• Passion for helping and serving others (customers and fellow team members)
• Strong customer service and support focus
• The ability to communicate effectively and anticipate customer needs
• To provide solutions and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Positive team players with flexible schedules who like to have fun, with the passion to work in the famously fast paced McDonald's environment

Preferred background

• A background in quick service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail
