Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance
Summary Of Responsibilities
Create, foster and promote a positive atmosphere to support safe production goals in the mine and plant.
Promote and execute safe production.
Conduct safety and information meetings within area.
Coach, direct and develop technicians within their area.
Manage training needs and promotions for department personnel.
Maintain a productive relationship with all Northshore Mining team members.
Maintain, and communicate daily and weekly schedules as required to maintain the plant production targets utilizing existing systems.
Verify parts, tools and equipment availability to ensure efficient work execution.
Ensure work order discipline is adhered to and work completion documentation is kept.
Continuously improve E&I department by identifying deficiencies and taking appropriate actions to rectify.
Communicate to all crew members’ job assignments, timing expectations, and associated tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- Must demonstrate total alignment with company core values while leading the Hot Side E&I group.
- Must be a champion of safe production methods & ideals. Promotes continuous improvement.
- Must understand and be able to communicate and implement safety, plant and MSHA rules, environmental policies and procedures and operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in mining or heavy industry, with preference given to those with both operations and maintenance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or at least 5 years related work experience is required.
- Previous successful leadership experience is preferred (e.g. step-up supervisory role, training coordinator, etc.).
- Must provide examples of how past leadership experiences have improved our operations.
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
- Must possess leadership skills necessary to prioritize crew activities in alignment with the Hot Side objectives.
- People Skills – must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and delegate. Must be willing to promote Northshore team concepts and enforce company policies fairly and consistently.
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Must have working knowledge of computer maintenance management systems (Ellipse).
- Strong understanding of predictive and reliability centered maintenance a plus.
- Organizational Skills – must have the ability to coordinate multiple work tasks with a variety of employees, departments and outside contractors. Must be able to set goals, develop strategies and set time frames to achieve desired results.
- Decision Making Skills – must be able to think logically using factual data and structure ideas to influence others. Must make sound, timely decisions under conditions of uncertainty and risk. Must be able to multi-task and work well under stressful conditions.
- Communication Skills – must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization. Must be willing to challenge the status quo, identify and pursue new ideas to improve production, safety, add value, environmental stewardship, quality, production, and/or cost.
- Must be able to facilitate the development of employees by providing constructive feedback and continuous coaching.
- Previous experience in Electrical/Instrumentation Maintenance is preferred.
Pay
The annual pay range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
