Shift Manager

About the role

Shift Managers lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience on every visit. They provide leadership to the crew and other managers during a shift to maintain high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. Shift Managers handle various tasks such as planning for each shift, monitoring performance, ensuring compliance with McDonald’s standards, managing safety and security, and communicating with the next Shift Manager to prepare them for their shift.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor shifts to ensure efficient operation and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with McDonald’s standards and policies.
• Monitor safety and security measures.
• Communicate effectively with the next Shift Manager to facilitate smooth transitions.
• Meet and exceed targets set for the shift.
• Support and guide the crew in achieving departmental goals.
• Manage inventory, daily maintenance, and cleanliness.
• Ensure exceptional customer service.
• Handle food safety protocols internally.
• Manage crew scheduling.
• Train new and existing staff.

Requirements

A minimum of 18 years of age is required to apply for this position. Previous leadership experience, preferably within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment, is preferred. Positive team player attitude and a flexible schedule are essential. Passion for working in a fast-paced environment is also important.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Leadership qualities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are highly valued. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills

Essential skills include effective communication, teamwork, time management, and attention to detail. Knowledge of McDonald’s standards and procedures is necessary. Proficiency in using technology for scheduling and inventory management is beneficial.
