About the role
The role involves leading shifts in a McDonald’s restaurant operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. As a Shift Manager, responsibilities include planning for each shift, monitoring performance, ensuring quality, service, and cleanliness, managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness, overseeing crew, and training.
Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor each shift to ensure high-quality service and cleanliness.
- Maintain inventory levels and manage daily maintenance and cleanliness.
- Train crew members on food safety, exceptional customer service, and other essential skills.
- Communicate with the next Shift Manager to prepare for their shift.
- Ensure the team meets McDonald’s standards for quality, service, and cleanliness.
- Manage crew schedules and help departments meet their goals.
- Handle food safety, internal communication, and inventory management tasks.
- Take action to address any issues that arise during the shift.
Requirements
- Previous leadership experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality setting.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others.
- Flexible schedule and a commitment to learning and growing professionally.
- Must be 18 years or older to qualify for the position.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong understanding of McDonald’s standards and procedures, as well as experience in managing a team and handling various tasks efficiently.
Skills
Essential skills include leadership, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with restaurant management software are beneficial.
