About the Role

Each day at Taziki’s is a little different—part of what keeps it exciting! You might have an opening or closing shift. For an opening shift, mornings are spent helping your prep crew ready the store for lunch service and preparing catering orders, ensuring food safety and recipe perfection. Before doors open, gather your team for pre-shift (or a family meal) to share updates like recipe changes or new Taz Rewards features. You’ll meet community members, touch tables, and assist with take-out orders, getting to know guests by name.

During afternoons, manage shift changes while helping on the line, preparing PM prep sheets, or reviewing upcoming dinner orders. For PM shifts, check team stations, assist with busy online ordering hours, and serve dine-in guests. As the shift winds down, create prep sheets for the AM team using evening counts and tomorrow’s catering orders.

Responsibilities

• Serve guests and build meaningful connections
• Perform opening and closing tasks
• Oversee the restaurant when a manager isn’t on duty
• Set the tone for the shift and direct team duties clearly and calmly
• Master menu and product knowledge
• Support or work stations (including kitchen) as needed
• Prep food and complete side work
• Follow cash handling, payment, and alcohol handling procedures
• Maintain Health Department standards throughout each shift
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, hygiene, uniform, and appearance

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Prior food service experience preferred
• Leadership, guest service, and strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to policies and procedures
• Energetic, eager to learn, and passionate about fresh food
• Flexible schedule; dependable, reliable, and trustworthy
• Must obtain a Food Manager’s certification shortly after beginning employment
• Understand and abide by all company standards and policies (provided in your handbook)

Schedule

• Morning shift: 7 AM – 4 PM
• Evening shift: 4 PM – 10 PM
• Weekends and holidays as applicable (closed Thanksgiving & Christmas)
• Hours vary by store

Working Conditions

• Typical restaurant kitchen environment with equipment such as flattop, char grill, oven, slicer, mixer, and food processor

Physical Requirements

• Walking/standing for extended periods
• Reaching, bending, lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds
• Wiping, twisting, and cooking
