About the Role

Our Panda Shift Leader associates are important leaders of our team and are responsible for bringing Panda’s mission alive in our restaurants by supporting management in creating food with passion, service with heart, and ambiance with pride. As a Shift Lead, you will embrace a central role in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment. Our restaurants are the heart and soul of our company, and we believe our people are the recipe for success.

• Support in creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for our guests.
• Gain valuable skills managing store operations and leading the team during the shift.
• Gain hands-on experience in cooking and preparing Panda favorites for our guests.
• Develop a diverse range of skills to develop yourself and others.

Responsibilities

• Manage shift operations and lead the team during assigned shifts.
• Prepare hot and cold foods using kitchen equipment, including Chinese cook knives.
• Serve customers in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in high-temperature kitchens.
• Navigate restricted workspace, high noise levels, and limited storage.
• Adapt to dynamic environments with changing priorities and manage conflicts effectively.

Requirements

• Some high school education.
• Preferred: Some operations experience.
• Food Safety: Local/municipal requirements, such as Food Handler certification (acquired at applicant’s own expense).
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal communication skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Work Environment

While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam tables and food vapors. Workspace is restricted, and employees are expected to remain standing for long periods. Kitchens are hot, noise levels are high, and storage space is limited with high shelving. The role requires working quickly without losing accuracy and managing conflicts in a dynamic environment.
