About the role
Manages the Hourly Team Members and interacts with Guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way. Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Handle Guest concerns and guide them toward a positive resolution.
- Adept at cash-handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, and managing deposits during the shift.
- Present self as a leader among the Team Members, motivating others to follow procedures, work with a sense of urgency, and ensure a positive Guest experience.
- De-escalate issues between Team Members, making everyone feel heard.
- Support Management with the inventory process.
- Keep food safety a high priority during the shift by performing line checks, checking shelf storage and expiration dates for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean and in order.
- Manage the daily prep list and sign off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to specifications and flavor profiles.
- Model a safe environment for Team Members and Guests by enforcing the use of cut gloves, keeping floors clean and dry, and removing obstacles that may prevent a safe work or dining space.
- Communicate and deliver a friendly, welcoming, exceptional guest experience.
- Embrace feedback, be eager to learn, and take accountability for actions.
- Work proficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Be comfortable in all areas of the restaurant as it relates to culinary, hospitality, and Guest interaction.
