Shift Leader
Leadership & Ethics
Takes charge of scheduled shifts by leading several aspects of the store operation. Solves problems and keeps the store running smoothly. Leads by example, ensuring key processes are followed and maintaining exceptional guest service.
Confidently makes smart, business-focused decisions, always keeping what’s best for the store and team in mind. Communicates clearly and proactively with Store Owners about any issues or important updates. Trusts with sensitive information and communicates openly and honestly when needed. Partners with fellow Shift Leads to assess store needs, support the team, and adapt quickly throughout the day. Leads by example in every interaction—bringing positive energy, professionalism, and strong brand representation for Smoothie King.
Demonstrates operational excellence and consistently shows Team Members how to “do things the right way.” Sets the standard and holds self and others accountable to consistently exceed expectations. Handles cash and inventory reporting with accuracy, integrity, and accountability.
Delegation & Team Support
Ensures every Team Member is confidently positioned for success—whether in the drive-thru, on assigned stations, or supporting prep and inventory needs. Actively delegates and guides Team Members during their scheduled shifts to keep operations running smoothly. Motivates Team Members to go above and beyond and fully complete assigned tasks. Clearly communicates shift priorities and works side-by-side with Team Members to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently. Supports a “trust-but-verify” method of delegating and follows up to hold self and team accountable.
Drive for Results
Consistently executes operational processes throughout the day; holds self and team accountable to follow standards for operations and interactions with guests and within the team, to always ensure brand excellence. Provides opening and/or closing recaps, depending on shift worked; reviews recaps for awareness and takes action appropriately to support team and overall operation. Identifies needs and opportunities to train, course correct, and coach team members to enhance team member and store performance. Maintains a working knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and high-level measures (Net and Gross Sales, E&E %, and labor %). Actively helps control key measures around cost of goods, and ensures team stays productive to optimize labor cost. Anticipates busy periods throughout the day to stay prepared and proactively reduce or eliminate issues. Inspires the team by modeling an “I’m the hardest worker in the room” mindset.
Hospitality
Supports a culture of hospitality within the team and with guests; identifies opportunities for genuine connection, appreciation, and recognition. Greets, engages, and connects with Guests to create a positive and memorable Guest experience. Takes ownership of delivering outstanding products and maintains a strong working knowledge of the menu and suggests appropriate items and E&E’s, to confidently meet the guests’ needs. Leads the team to live a true “Guest comes first” mindset.
Self-Development & Self-Management
Eager to grow, learn new skills, and take on responsibilities beyond their current role. Welcomes constructive feedback and uses it as an opportunity to improve. Actively seeks coaching and guidance from Store Owners. Arrives on time, is dependable, and minimizes last-minute schedule changes. Maintains a healthy balance between personal responsibilities and work commitments; communicates schedule needs ahead of time.
