Shift Leader

About the Role

The Shift Leader supervises shifts and/or work areas in the operation of a Papa John’s restaurant to ensure high quality products and customer service are delivered to ensure restaurant profitability. Responsibilities include managing operations, executing all Company policies, procedures, programs, and systems, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ethical business practices.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to guidelines, techniques, and expectations for each station, including dough management, accuracy, and proper portioning.
• Performs assigned work station duties such as making quality products, following all product preparation procedures, and maintaining established product holding times.
• Consistently contributes to achieving the Company’s product goals.
• Meets the needs and expectations of customers, minimizes complaints, and responds appropriately to customer needs.
• Follows all policies and procedures outlined in the Team Member handbook, including image, attendance, safety, and security.
• Exemplifies and exhibits Core Values, maintains a positive attitude, works well with others, and is flexible and adaptable to change.
• Ensures adequate shift coverage for the restaurant.
• Provides immediate feedback and corrects problems when identified.
• Maintains product quality, customer service, and performance responsibilities (e.g., MCE readiness, food/labor costs, restaurant cleanliness) within acceptable standards.
• Contributes to profit goals by staying within company guidelines and target goals using the FOCUS System.
• Executes cash management duties.
• Assists in managing adequate inventory levels using company systems and guidelines to minimize loss.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• ServSafe/Local or State Food Service Certification preferred.
• Previous restaurant shift lead experience preferred.
• Successful and stable employment history.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work long hours (32+ hours generally required), including nights, weekends, and as emergencies arise.
• Ability to successfully perform the job duties of all positions in the restaurant.
