About the role

At Bruegger’s Bagels we’ve been kettle‑cooking genuine New York‑style bagels and serving real Vermont cream cheese for over 35 years. We’re equally committed to work‑life balance: our stores close at 2 p.m., so you’ll never miss a dance recital or a once‑in‑a‑lifetime concert. As a Shift Leader you’ll collaborate directly with the General Manager to motivate the team, set the tone and morale, provide feedback and coaching, and open or close the store with little to no supervision. You’ll take pride in food quality, beverage quality, and a safe, clean environment — and many of our General Managers started right here.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager to motivate the team and deliver a great guest experience
• Set the morale and tone of the shift; provide feedback and coach team members
• Open and close the store with minimal supervision
• Ensure the quality of food and beverages served
• Maintain a safe and clean store environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Availability for varied hours and days, including early mornings (as early as 3 a.m.) and weekends
• Ability to pass a background check per applicable local, state, and federal law
• Possess or obtain ServSafe Certification before completing leadership training
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license (preferred; required at certain locations) and meet company driving qualifications

Tip eligibility is subject to state regulations; additional benefits eligibility follows position guidelines at time of hire.

Pay

Hourly rate: $14.57 – $21.86 per hour. Starting pay is subject to local and state minimum‑wage regulations.

Schedule

Stores close at 2 p.m.; shifts end no later than 3 p.m. (no evenings or nights). Early‑morning starts may begin as early as 3 a.m., and weekend availability is required.
