At Bruegger’s, we’ve been kettle cooking our bagels and serving tradition you can taste for over 35 years. Our stores close at 2 p.m., so you’ll never miss a dance recital or a once‑in‑a‑lifetime concert.

Shift Leaders are the cream cheese on the bagel — adding flavor and holding everything together. You’ll collaborate directly with the General Manager to motivate the team, set the morale and tone, provide feedback, and coach team members. Shift Leaders open and close the store with little to no supervision, and take pride in food quality, beverage quality, and a safe, clean environment. Many General Managers started as Shift Leaders, so there’s a clear path to grow your career.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the General Manager to motivate the team and deliver a great guest experience
• Set the morale and tone of the shift
• Provide feedback and coach team members as needed
• Open and close the store with minimal supervision
• Ensure quality of food and beverages served
• Maintain a safe and clean store environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates, including early hours (as early as 3 a.m.) and weekends
• Ability to pass a background check per applicable local, state, and federal law
• Possess or be able to acquire a ServSafe Certification prior to completion of leadership training
• Current, valid, state‑issued driver’s license (preferred; required only at specific locations) and meet company driving qualifications

Pay

Hourly rate: $14.57 – $21.86 per hour. Starting pay is subject to local and state minimum wage regulations; ranges reflect what the employer reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position.

Schedule

Stores close at 2 p.m.; shifts may start as early as 3 a.m. depending on the restaurant. No evening or night shifts.
