Shift Leader

About the Role

At Caribou Coffee, we create day-making experiences that spark a chain reaction of GOOD! As a Shift Leader, you’ll partner with the General Manager or Assistant General Manager to provide overall leadership and direction for the store. You’ll ensure the team understands goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives, and guest connections during shifts while fostering a positive and engaging work environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mastery of Team Member duties with ease, enthusiasm, and excellence.
• Leads shifts focused on team engagement and guest satisfaction, committing to "Make Fun Happen."
• Thinks strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management.
• Maintains "total store vision" to take ownership of the store’s look and feel.
• Understands daily deployment, roles, and responsibilities for the team.
• Leverages effective communication on the floor during shifts to address team and guest needs proactively.
• Delegates tasks and communicates shift priorities clearly.
• Takes ownership of the current shift and prepares for the next.
• Ensures the team executes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and quality standards correctly and consistently.
• Provides active, in-the-moment coaching and feedback to team members to bring out their best.
• Trains team members on role responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotional items.
• Performs administrative tasks with integrity, including bank deposits, inventory, and store product orders.
• Actively develops team members and discusses career and professional growth opportunities.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience (or proper training and approval by Caribou Coffee to take responsibility as a Shift Leader).
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays, and/or weekends.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Hearing, speaking, and seeing.
• Bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for 4 to 8 hours (or ability to accomplish these requirements with reasonable accommodations).

Pay

Compensation range: $12.75 - $21.25 per hour. Starting pay is subject to local and state minimum wage regulations.
