Shift Leader

About the Role

At Caribou Coffee, we create day-making experiences that spark a chain reaction of GOOD! As a Shift Leader, you’ll partner with the General Manager or Assistant General Manager to provide overall leadership and direction for the store. You’ll ensure the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives, and guest connections during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mastery of Team Member duties with ease, enthusiasm, and excellence
• Leads shifts focused on team engagement and guest satisfaction, ensuring a commitment to "Make Fun Happen"
• Thinks strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management
• Maintains "total store vision" to take ownership of the store’s look and feel
• Understands daily deployment, roles, and responsibilities
• Leverages effective communication on the floor during shifts
• Anticipates team and guest needs, addressing situations proactively
• Manages multiple shift priorities, effectively communicating and delegating tasks
• Takes ownership of the current shift and prepares for the next
• Ensures the team executes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and quality standards correctly and consistently
• Provides active, in-the-moment coaching and feedback to Team Members
• Trains team members on role responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotional items
• Performs administrative tasks with integrity, including bank deposits, inventory, and store product orders
• Actively develops Team Members and discusses career and professional growth

Requirements

• At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience (or properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee to take responsibility as a Shift Leader)
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays, and/or weekends
• Must be at least 18 years of age

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

• Hearing, speaking, and seeing

Pay

Compensation Range: $12.75 - $21.25 per hour. Starting pay is subject to Local and State Minimum Wage regulations. Ranges reflect what the employer reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position.
