About the role

Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening the back door for deliveries and completing product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and providing change to cash registers.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Hold store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
• Assist and coach team members with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including receiving vendor deliveries.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, including handling scanning errors, price verifications, and voids.
• Assist in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packages).
• Assist in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities in departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
• Ensure the Outdate program is followed by team members.
• Handle basic department pricing and daily price changes; ensure proper signage is displayed.
• Complete additional pricing tasks related to local regulations and compliance programs accurately and on time.
• Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments.
• Maintain store condition and appearance, including requesting repairs as needed.
• Assist with food item separation and product placement according to policies (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked, stock rotation).
• Operate store systems and equipment.
• Assist at the Pharmacy out window as requested.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages, tobacco).
• Conduct bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
• Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks.
• Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Obtain and maintain valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of store inventory control.

Pay

Salary Range: $17 - $20 / Hourly
