About the role

Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, handling system start‑ups, cash handling, preparing the floor and stock room, managing back‑door deliveries, processing product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops, providing change, and modeling a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Open and close store when management is absent, including required system start‑ups and cash handling.
• Ensure floor and stock room are ready for the business day.
• Open back door for deliveries and vendor shipments.
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, and cash drops to the safe.
• Provide change as requested to cash registers.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members (greeting, eye contact, courtesy, proactive help, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
• Hold store keys to open and close without management as needed.
• Assist and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering process, including opening back door for vendor deliveries.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, tracking scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
• Assist manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and in reverse logistics (e.g., 1506, returns, empty packages).
• Assist manager in evaluating and developing displays (promotional, seasonal, super structures, sale merchandise) and completing resets and revisions.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities in basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
• Assist with ensuring the Outdate program is followed by team members.
• Perform basic department pricing
