Shift key holder responsible for opening and closing the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring the sales floor and stock room are prepared for the business day. Opens the back door for deliveries and completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provides change as requested to cash registers.
Responsibilities
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
- Hold store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
- Assist and coach team members with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including receiving vendor deliveries.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register, including handling scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
- Assist in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packages).
- Assist in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities in basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
- Ensure the Outdate program is followed by team members.
- Handle basic department pricing and daily price changes; ensure proper signage is displayed and comply with local regulations and regulatory compliance programs.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment as necessary or requested.
- Maintain clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance; request store or system repairs as required.
- Assist with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement according to policies/procedures (e.g., raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves).
- Perform stock rotation using the first in, first out method and restock outs for consumable items.
- Operate store systems and equipment proficiently.
- Assist at the Pharmacy out window as requested.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
- Conduct bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks when store management is not present.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Requirements
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Preferred: Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Preferred: Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
Pay
Salary Range: $17 - $20 / Hourly
