Job Summary
The Shift Lead assists the store manager in planning, directing, and controlling the operation of the store. They supervise employees to manage production, inventory, merchandising, losses, gross and net profit, and hours of work across all departments. They also assist in supervising the ordering of products, supporting sales plans, and maximizing sales, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Aid in supervising hiring, firing, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions for all employees.
- Pass a drug test and pre-employment drug screen.
- Work a maximum 10-hour day.
- Show good interpersonal skills and be a mature, proven leader.
- Read, write, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Develop and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Be a self-starter.
- Travel to and from work.
- Give verbal and written instructions.
- Supervise, recruit, and train employees.
- Conduct meetings to communicate business results and direction to employees.
- Operate telephones and intercoms.
- Write work schedules and reports.
- Deal effectively with vendors, suppliers, competitors, employees, and (when necessary) employee representatives.
- Discipline employees, when necessary.
- Assist in establishing and administering rules and regulations.
