Shift Lead
About the role
The Shift Lead position involves a dynamic balance between leadership and paraprofessional duties, with a typical ratio of approximately 20% leadership and 80% paraprofessional responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Liv[e and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
- Perform the duties of a CSC and/or veterinary assistant/technician, including:
- Actively recruiting new clients and managing client flow.
- Maximizing the number of pets seen by the hospital team.
- Providing professional, efficient, and exceptional service.
- Education clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, and hospital services.
- Completing necessary documentation and ensuring prompt service to clients.
- Maintaining accurate balances and utilizing proper opening and closing procedures.
- Assisting the veterinarian and veterinary technician to ensure the best quality pet care and productivity.
- Obtaining relevant information and maintaining complete medical charts.
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment for pets, clients, and associates.
- Assisting with surgery as applicable.
- Utilizing technical skills within state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines.
- Conducting administrative functions as necessary.
- Support the Practice Manager in developing an efficient, productive hospital team.
- Manage paraprofessional team schedules and train, supervise, and mentor new associates.
- Ensure quality medical care, exceptional client service, and associate engagement.
- Communicate effectively with associates, clients, hospital leadership, and Central Team Support.
- Address broken equipment issues and assist in inventory management.
- Other job duties as assigned.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $20.35 - $26.00 hourly.
