Shift Lead 3 - Night Shift Kennesaw

About the role

This position has primary responsibility for assigning tasks and activities to Warehouse Operational Team members to meet customer demand requirements for inbound and outbound shipments. The role allocates assignments and activities to ensure business needs are met while enabling team members to achieve their productivity requirements. It involves maintaining ongoing communication with the Security Team to move trailers in and out to meet demand, and providing leadership to achieve business objectives while following all quality and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews production schedule to identify production goals and balances staffing to requirements.
• Assigns daily work functions for all shift employees prior to shift start.
• Conducts daily pre-shift meetings to communicate production goals, function assignments, and any special work requirements or operational process changes.
• Provides First Responder Team Leadership for assigned shift and assigns First Responder Support roles each day.
• Ensures pre-operational equipment inspections are conducted daily prior to shift start, providing LOTO support for material handling equipment, safety, or other equipment as needed.
• Ensures adequate quantity of trailers (per carrier) are available on the yard to fulfill the loading schedule and communicates any shortages to the Customer Care team for resolution.
• Provides ongoing communication to the “Spotter” and Security team for moving trailers to and from dock doors.
• Maintains active review of emails to address any urgent needs or emergency orders to meet customer requirements.
• Ensures warehouse production meets customer quality specifications and requirements.
• Ensures all Taskers and Group Leads are adequately trained and qualified to manage Warehouse Operations as backup for a Team Leader absence.
• Ensures all Safety and Sanitation Procedures/Requirements are being followed and executed daily for Warehouse Operations.
• Conducts daily end-of-shift walk-throughs of the warehouse.
• Supports end-of-shift transition through communication of any special instructions/requirements for the oncoming shift’s Leaders and other applicable departments.
• Reports indirect hours to the Sr. Team Lead.
• Monitors employee skill levels and reports any training needs to the Sr. Team Lead and Warehouse Manager.
• Leads by example, guiding and mentoring employees.
• Reports performance issues to the Sr. Team Lead and Warehouse Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Skills

• Proficiency in WHS Management Software and Blue Yonder.
• Computer skills in spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Ability to multitask and direct others.
