About the Role
The Shift Engineer at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front-of-house areas, as well as back-of-house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. This role also involves performing preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems using a Windows-based computer system. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is preferred, along with basic troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front-of-house areas.
- Maintain and repair back-of-house systems, including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems.
- Use a Windows-based computer system for maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics (preferred).
- Troubleshoot issues related to electricity, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Lead and motivate a team with strong organizational and delegation skills.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of building maintenance experience, with hotel experience preferred.
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electricity, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate amount of weight.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
