Shepherd's Pantry - Food Pantry Assistant (2023/2024) - FWS Only

About the role

OCCE – The purpose of the Food Pantry Assistant is to assist with transporting food, putting away or packing food, distributing food, provide office work support and maintenance to name a few. Two openings are available for this position. This position is off‑site; students must have their own transportation to/from Shepherd’s Pantry in Irwindale, CA.

Responsibilities

• Transport food
• Put away or pack food
• Distribute food
• Provide office work support
• Perform maintenance tasks

Requirements

• Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Personal Computer experience with proficiency in MS Office (Word & Excel)
• A positive and can-do attitude and willingness to work with volunteers
• Strong communication skills and the ability to be a team player
• Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Pay

Starting pay of $19.00 per hour.

Schedule

Approx. 6-8 hours per week, M‑F. Actual work schedule TBD based on student schedule.
