Responsibilities
- Provide support to Booth Haven residents and create a hospitable and safe environment in the shelter.
- Maintain a 16-hour per week schedule on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
- Support shelter residents by monitoring their activities within the shelter environment.
- Complete a daily Shift Log check-list during your shift.
- Review and record the Communication Log each shift.
- Conduct security wandings upon resident admission, as well as random wand checks.
- Monitor the physical facility by making rounds every half hour and conducting periodic inspections to ensure rooms are clean, facility is secure, and clients are abiding by house rules.
- Make referrals to alternative emergency shelter providers when Program beds are unavailable.
- Maintain basic record keeping responsibilities, including performing electronic intakes in the database and completing accurate time sheets in ADP.
- Check individual work email daily.
- Attend and participate in monthly Staff meetings and Resident meetings.
- Attend relevant In-Service training/conferences, as requested.
- Complete all mandatory training (in-person and online) in a timely manner.
- Clean linens and maintain the cleanliness of the facility (inside and perimeter).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of High School Diploma/GED will be reviewed.
- Associated Degree preferred.
- Crisis intervention, interpersonal, and communication skills needed.
- Ability to work in a continually changing and challenging environment.
- Flexibility in personal work schedule.
- Must be available for relief hours as needed.
- Basic computer skills required for completion of intakes, time sheets, email, daily logs.
