Shelter Staff (Part-Time Weekends)

About the role

Our organization is looking for compassionate, motivated individuals to join our Shelter Staff team. In this vital role, you'll be at the heart of shelter operations, helping to maintain a secure and welcoming space for both clients and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and well-being of the shelter's residents
• Utilizing skills in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation techniques to assist clients through their challenges
• Working closely with clients to resolve conflicts and navigate their day-to-day lives in the shelter
• Helping manage daily shelter operations, including cleaning, organizing, and meal setups
• Reporting observations and incidents to the shelter leadership team to ensure proper follow-up

Qualifications

• Background in social work, psychology, human services, or related fields
• Experience working with homeless populations
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Ability to work well independently
• Compassionate approach to working with diverse communities

Pay

Competitive base hourly wage of $24.61 to $25.68.

Schedule

Part-time weekend shifts available: 2 Day (7a-3:15p) and 1 Swing (3p-11:15p).
