Sheetfed Press Assistant

About the role

Quad Packaging Facility in Franklin, WI is seeking a Press Assistant to join our team. This role assists the First and Second Press Operators in running the Press, performs cleaning and set-up duties, loads and stages paper, and manages press output along with area maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for operation by checking order documentation and making ready for production by setting up machine components.
• Operate Sheeting Machine by operating assigned equipment according to Company policies and standard operating procedures, observing and monitoring machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed, and performing routine adjustments as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment during shift.
• Complete quality checklist(s) and perform quality checks of product throughout to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Clean assigned area by removing all products from the line, trash, boxes, and other supplies associated with a completed order.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the equipment platform.
• Continuous Improvement background.
• Expertise in all technologies of Production equipment.
• Expert mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated to lead, model, and direct leaders' and crew members' efforts to maintain schedule and deadlines.
• Ability to organize, and manage people effectively.
• Ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, and lift to 50 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous manufacturing/warehouse experience is a plus, but will train the right candidate.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Pay

Wages start between $17.50 - $19.50 / hour, based on variations in knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.

Schedule

Shift options available:

• 12 Hours: Monday - Wednesday 5 pm - 5 am (Eligible for a $3.00 shift premium), Thursday - Saturday 5 am - 5 pm, Monday - Wednesday and every other Thursday 5 am - 5 pm
• 8 Hours: 1st Shift Monday - Friday 5 am - 1 pm, 3rd Shift Monday - Friday 9 pm - 5 am (Eligible for a $3.00 shift premium)
