Job Qualifications
- Education: Requires a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
- Technical or vocational training preferred
- Experience: 1-3 years of related sheet-metal fabrication experience
Responsibilities
Contingencies: Satisfaction of all eligibility requirements as dictated by any customer account or business area that you will be supporting.
The eligibility requirements for continued employment in this position include, but may not be limited to, obtaining DBIDS, and access to all shipyards. Further information may be provided under separate cover.
Sets up and operates fabricating machines including shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch and drill presses to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
Shapes metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer.
Sets up and operates soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts.
Smooths seams, joints, or burred surfaces using files and portable grinder or buffer.
Installs assemblies according to blueprints, engineering sketches, written instructions or manuals.
Inspects assemblies and installations for conformance with specifications, using measuring instruments including calipers, scales, and micrometer.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Participates in special projects, as required.

Pay
The likely hourly rate for this position is between $25.50 - $34.50. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
