Sheet Metal Laborer

General Description

The Sheet Metal Laborer is directly responsible for working on jobsites assigned by their Project Manager. They will be required to work directly under the Commercial Sheet Metal Journeymen and provide support to Sheet Metal Apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of HVAC ductwork, hangers, fittings, supports, and equipment
• Load, unload, transport, and organize sheet metal tools and materials
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
• Assist with layouts, prep jobsite, and install prefabricated ductwork
• Learn and understand the basics of commercial sheet metal/HVAC
• Learn and understand how to read blueprints and layouts

Qualifications

• 1+ year of construction or sheet metal experience
• Understand and use hand tools (tape measure, pipe wrenches, hammers, screw drivers, etc.)
• Be able and willing to handle power tools in a safe manner
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner to all levels inside and outside the company
• Operate in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements (wear proper PPE, keep worksite organized, safe, and free of hazards)
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to work at heights
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
