Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Sheet Metal General Foreman to lead and oversee multiple commercial plumbing projects simultaneously. This role is essential to maintaining field productivity, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Sheet Metal crews across multiple job sites.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure proper installation of plumbing systems.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain workflow.
- Schedule manpower, tools, and materials to meet project deadlines.
- Conduct regular job site inspections to ensure work meets or exceeds quality standards.
- Mentor and train apprentices and journeyman plumbers.
- Report progress, delays, and field issues directly to the Plumbing Superintendent.
- Oversee and enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards on job sites.
- Aid in project planning, layout, and execution of plumbing scope.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of commercial/industrial plumbing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or foreman capacity.
- Proven experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously for a large-scale contractor.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and plumbing diagrams.
- Deep knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus.
