About the Role
The Frederick National Laboratory, operated by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc., is hiring a SharePoint Online & Power Platform Developer to design, build, and support enterprise Microsoft 365 solutions. This senior individual-contributor role combines hands-on development with business and systems analysis, working directly with stakeholders to deliver scalable, polished solutions within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy custom solutions on SharePoint Online, including modern sites, web parts, page layouts, and intranet/collaboration experiences.
- Build scalable client-side solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Develop applications across the Power Platform, including Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate flows, Dataverse, custom connectors, and Power BI reporting/integration.
- Integrate SharePoint and M365 with enterprise systems and third-party applications using Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, and Azure services.
- Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for SharePoint and Power Platform solutions, including source control (Git), automated builds, deployments, and testing.
- Explore and implement AI-enabled experiences (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Viva Connections) where they add value.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, secure, and optimize existing SPO and M365 solutions.
- Elicit, document, and validate detailed business and functional requirements with stakeholders and end users.
- Analyze existing systems, processes, and workflows, performing gap/fit analysis to recommend solutions.
- Develop test plans and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defect triage and resolution.
- Partner with the Product Owner to refine and estimate the backlog, delivering committed features each iteration.
- Ensure solutions meet compliance and security requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FedRAMP, FISMA, NIH/NCI policies).
- Contribute to code reviews, technical standards, and peer mentorship of junior developers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on SharePoint Online development experience.
- Strong proficiency with SPFx, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
- Demonstrated experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, and PnP libraries/PowerShell.
- Solid command of Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, OneDrive, Exchange integration points).
- Experience with SharePoint governance, security, permissions, and information architecture.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Git, automated builds/deployments, testing).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering large-scale enterprise SharePoint Online solutions (intranets, portals, business applications).
- Familiarity with Azure services (Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Entra ID/Azure AD).
- Experience with Power BI, Viva Connections, and modern employee-experience tools.
- Exposure to AI-enabled development (Microsoft Copilot Studio, Copilot integrations).
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-600, PL-400, PL-900, PL-600, Azure certifications).
- Business-analysis credentials (e.g., ECBA/CBAP).
- Experience in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment or on an Agile Release Train; SAFe certification a plus.
- UX/UI design sensibility for enterprise applications.
Pay
The posted pay range for this job is $102,300.00 - $146,483.00 USD. The actual salary will vary based on factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
