Sewing Supervisor

The Sewing Supervisor oversees daily operations of the sewing department during 1st shift, ensuring production targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and safety protocols are followed. This role provides leadership to sewing operators, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate sewing team activities to meet production schedules and maintain workflow; coordinate handoff with other supervisors.
• Coach, train, and support sewing operators, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Monitor and inspect output to ensure compliance with quality standards; implement corrective measures when necessary.
• Record and report daily output, promptly addressing issues affecting performance.
• Partner with supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve equipment or process concerns.
• Enforce safety regulations, conduct briefings, and report hazards.
• Identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and support initiatives that enhance quality and productivity.
• Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to strengthen team skills and performance.
• Review and approve attendance and overtime while balancing production demands with cost controls.
• Maintain strong written and verbal communication to ensure alignment and coordination across teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in sewing, textiles, or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of sewing operations, equipment, and production processes.
• Proven leadership and team-building skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and resolve issues quickly.
• Knowledge of quality control systems and safety standards.
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with varied daily tasks.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish (speaking and writing).
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
