Patchmarks is a small shop in Milwaukie, Oregon, producing custom patches, decorated headwear, stickers, and related goods for a variety of clients and projects.
About the role
We’re hiring a part-time Sewing Operator to sew patches onto hats, beanies, bags, apparel, and other merchandise. We need someone reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing consistent production work.
Work setting: In-person only in Milwaukie, Oregon.
Employment type: Contract.
Responsibilities
- Sewing patches onto hats and other heavy/structured material with Pfaff 591 Post-bed Industrial
- Following written placement specifications and production instructions
- Producing clean, consistent, retail-quality work
- Inspecting completed items for quality
- Performing basic sewing-machine care and upkeep
- Keeping the work area clean and organized
Requirements
- Can sew neatly and consistently
- Pay close attention to small details
- Can follow written directions and placement specifications
- Show up reliably
- Are comfortable with repetitive production work
- Enjoy being useful in a small, working production shop
Skills
Helpful experience includes:
- Production sewing
- Post-bed sewing machines, including the Pfaff 591
- Industrial or semi-industrial sewing machines
- Apparel decoration
- Patch application
- Garment or soft-goods production
- Quality-control or detail-oriented shop work
