About the role
The Foreman II oversees the City's sanitary sewer collection system, stormwater conveyance system, and the I&I Division. Responsibilities include operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's infrastructure, as well as cleaning, televising, and evaluating the sanitary sewer system; rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure; administration of the private property I&I reduction program; monitoring of contractor work; and oversight of the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure to eliminate infiltration and inflow (I&I).
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the City’s sanitary sewer collection system, stormwater conveyance system, and the I&I Division
- Operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's infrastructure
- Cleaning, televising, and evaluating the sanitary sewer system
- Rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure
- Administration of the private property I&I reduction program
- Maintenance of contractor work
- Oversight of the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure to eliminate infiltration and inflow (I&I)
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid class B CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within six months of hire
- Ability to clearly and correctly communicate with the public and co-workers is required
- Ability to effectively supervise employees within the Underground Utilities Department is required
- Ohio EPA Class II Collection license or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
- Five (5) years of experience in the Underground Utilities or other closely related experience (construction, plumbing, electrical or similar)
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining sanitary sewer, water distribution, and storm sewer systems
- NASSCO PACP, LACP and MACP certifications or the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire
- Maintain residency in Shelby County or an adjacent county within 12 months of hire
